Description
This course aims to provide specific expertise in the field of plant-derived products used as pharmaceutical ingredients and/or dietary supplements. Specifically, the course will cover several aspects related to the preparation and use of extracts from plant sources, including waste from primary agribusiness, with potential applications in health, pharmaceutical, and nutraceutical contexts. The main methods of preparing extracts, characterization techniques, and formulation and legislative aspects will be addressed.
The course is organized as part of the NODES project within the framework of lifelong learning initiatives. Professor Daniela Rossi is the coordinator. The course content aligns with the activities of the flagship VINO project, which includes the reuse of waste material from viticulture and alternative crops for the preparation of industrially valuable extracts, with a focus on circular economy principles.
The course aims to strengthen industrial skills related to the preparation, characterization, and use of extracts from plant sources, including waste from primary agribusiness, particularly for attendants operating in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
