A unique laboratory—the only one—for V2G
Capable of evaluating all communication protocols between vehicles and the grid, which are constantly evolving and often complex to understand, under real charging conditions.

How does it work?
It combines a realistic simulation of the electrical grid with testing of the communication protocols between the grid (via charging stations) and vehicles.
The Charging Lab (CLAB) allows reading and visualizing all data exchanged between vehicle and charging station, identifying issues and inefficiencies—but that’s not all. The CLAB also enables real testing of a vehicle’s charging conditions, thanks to the power converter integrated into the facility. A unique solution, designed to avoid prolonged testing on all existing (and future) charging systems.
The Charging Lab, designed, tested, and implemented thanks to NODES, integrates seamlessly with the applied research ecosystem of Politecnico di Torino and its partners, leveraging existing labs and infrastructures covering all topics related to energy transition and mobility electrification.
A laboratory built to connect research and industry, aiming to accelerate the energy transition and electrification, providing a stress-free charging experience for both users and the grid. For greener mobility and a reliable, sustainable, and fast charging infrastructure.
