Spoke 1 in Bari, for cooperation in Aerospace
BINP, the incubator of entrepreneurial projects, startups and spin-offs promoted by the Polytechnic University of Bari, hosted a new meeting dedicated to cooperation between the academic world and local companies in the context of Spoke 1, Aerospace and sustainable mobility. The event was an opportunity for discussion between the innovation players of the Space of the Ecosystem sector with the realities of Puglia and Southern Italy.   The companies involved in Spoke 1 and the researchers of the Space4You project shared the research and development activities they are carrying out with companies and researchers in the public, with the aim of strengthening or creating new synergies on the national territory. In fact, during the event, the results and expectations of Space4You were presented, a wide-ranging applied research project carried out by Politecnico di Torino, Università di Torino, Politecnico di Bari e Lnks Foundation. Furthermore, the progresses made by companies in industrial research and experimental development projects, funded by cascading calls, were presented.   The cascading calls for proposals of Spoke 1, Aerospace and sustainable mobility have allowed the launch of more than 20 industrial research projects, carried out by large and small companies. Spoke 1 already has more than 70 companies in its network between research projects and training activities, and will continue to work to simplify the dialogue between the innovation actors of the NODES territories, both in the north and in the south, for a synergistic production fabric and an increasingly competitive "Space system"   For further information:     Flagship Project Space4You   Industrial projects

The stars and the road lead to the Researchers Night. Aerospace and Sustainable Mobility in the centre of Turin - Unight 2024
On 27 and 28 September, the Researchers Night brings knowledge. The event brings together researchers from local universities and allows people to discover new technologies and developments that will change our daily lives in the coming years. The European Researchers Night in Turin is again this year brought by UNIGHT - United citizens for research - and is organised by Università di Torino and Politecnico di Torino. Similar events were held in many European cities on the same dates. During the event, organised in the outdoor spaces of the Royal Museums of Torino, Spoke 1's research was also showcased, and the project staff exhibited its extensive research projects, the Flagship Projects, and the themes contained within them, to the general public. Attendees at the Night were able to discover the contribution of research on highly topical issues such as Sustainable Mobility, both in terms of electrification and the lesser-known green hydrogen, and on the New Space Economy, that sees great involvement form the private sector and isn't only the realm of government funded ventures. Researchers from Spoke 1 illustrated the technologies being studied and developed and how these will have an impact on everyday life, faster than we tend to think. Problem solved! with a Students challenge dedicated to sustainable mobility solutions
The Spoke 1 Students Challenge carried out by students from Politecnico di Torino with Gruppo Iren ends with great satisfaction. The challenge was multifaceted and concerned two crucial aspects of the energy landscape: electric mobility and renewable energy communities. The future penetration of electric vehicles equipped with two-way charging (V2G) technologies can provide flexibility to the grid and become a relevant component for “energy communities.” In this context, electric vehicles can be viewed as batteries on wheels, useful for maximizing self-consumption of locally generated energy, increasing energy flexibility by storing and releasing electricity as needed. The operational objectives of the challenge were multiple and complex; the teams worked to formulate technologically feasible and profitable market solutions, identify technological limitations of the current market, simulate application scenarios, build a technology roadmap of future developments, define business models that can generate value for all key players, and finally, define effective remuneration methods for electric vehicle owners within the EC. The teams demonstrated remarkable creativity, developing innovative solutions with great commitment. Indeed, critical factors were addressed, from the stochasticity of available electric vehicles to the specific mobility needs of users requiring innovative charging stations. The Students Challenges are an opportunity for companies to develop innovative solutions together with students to meet challenges. The goal of the Challenges is twofold, both to give students the opportunity to interact with the business community, public institutions, associations, and third sector entities in NODES project areas through the “learning by doing” method, and to give companies and other stakeholders the opportunity to meet young talents and discover innovative solutions applicable in their realities. Spoke 1 awaits new challenges, any company in the sectors (aerospace or sustainable mobility) can submit its problem and apply by visiting the     Dedicated page
