GAIA
Advanced Management of Water and Energy in Alpine Communities

Scheda del progetto
The GAIA project aims to develop a federated meta-platform software for the management of multi-vector renewable energy. The goal is to promote innovative solutions to create Alpine energy communities, thus encouraging the optimized use of renewable sources and sustainable energy resource management at various levels. The meta-platform facilitates data and information exchange among various stakeholders in the mountain energy community (e.g., energy resellers, distributors, or other market actors), enhancing integration, collaboration, and effectiveness in energy management. Ultimately, the project supports the development of new data-driven services and business models.

The development of the federated meta-platform aims to manage access to third-party data repositories efficiently, securely, and in a distributed manner, taking into account the environmental complexity of communities.
It expands expertise in the field of energy communities and consumption optimization; broadens the portfolio of products and services in the field of data management; promotes synergy and integration between different energy and management sectors; creates business opportunities.
The project results provide communities with a valuable tool for understanding energy and water production, management, and consumption issues. Additionally, they facilitate interoperability among various entities that were previously completely isolated: through the aggregation and standardization of data from producers, distributors, and consumers, they can benefit from using third-party data to enhance their processes and analysis pipelines.
