Innovation in monitoring slopes, landslides, and protective structures
Info utili
Description:
The course aims to provide an overview of innovative tools and methods for monitoring slopes, landslides, and protective structures, integrating technologies and techniques from various scientific areas, such as geomatics, geotechnics, geophysics, and engineering and excavation safety.
Participants in this course will be updated on techniques and new monitoring technologies for slopes and land protection works, the protection of structures and infrastructures, and the challenges in managing transregional or transboundary protection works.
The course has a strong practical component aimed at applying the theoretical knowledge learned in the lessons within the context of a practical case study. The case will be addressed in various phases of the solution's life cycle: from planning to the selection of technologies and installation methods, data and results acquisition and processing, to identifying the most appropriate techniques for selecting protection works.
Details:
- Introduction to the design and management of a monitoring system
- Monitoring with satellite techniques (from satellites, from drones) using optical sensors and interferometry
- Terrestrial geomatic, geophysical techniques, and monitoring using optical fibers
- Wireless sensor networks
- Monitoring of protective structures
- Field activities, applying what has been covered during the theoretical part
