Design Sprint Workshop “Learning by Food Designing”

On 6 November, the Cittadella Politecnica del Design e della Mobilità Sostenibile hosts Diesamina, the Design Sprint workshop “Learning by Food Designing” intended for students of the three-year degree in Sustainable Design for the Food System.

Diesamina is organized by the research group of the Polito Food Design Lab of the Department of Architecture and Design of the Polytechnic of Turin.

Between Design, Circular Economy and Food, participants will be involved in project activities - creative and practical - aimed at identifying new concepts of innovative food products, capable of valorising the surpluses and by-products generated by the local agro-industry.

Using food as a "material for design" the students involved will put into practice the skills learned during their training, reflecting on the connections between the principles of economics circular for food, food design and social and environmental sustainability.

The workshop activities integrate with the themes of Spoke 7, in particular with regard to the ability to apply the principles of the circular food economy - such as reuse and recovery: starting from surpluses or by-products that can be intercepted in the agro-industrial sector fruit-bearing secondary plant in the area, we will try to define new concepts of edible products.
