The Vinicolo delle Langhe district represents an excellence of Made in Italy. Much of this success is due to a convincing production identity that combines roots in the area and origin certifications (DOC and DOCG), memory of traditional knowledge renewed by new generations of producers, attention to environmental impact, climatic transformations and landscape.
However, an objective certification of the social sustainability of the sector and its environmental and human landscapes is absent. The CEFW interdisciplinary project will formulate the guidelines necessary for the creation of a certification that accompanies the distribution of the wine products of the Langhe on international markets and which responds to the equity criteria set by Unesco and EU.
The proposal is part of a framework of expansion of the UNI/TS 11820 rule: 2022 "Measurement of circularity - Methods and indicators for the measurement of circular processes in organizations" and suggests an integration of the same taking into consideration equity criteria set by Unesco and EU, KPI Core present in certifications focused on the issues of social sustainability, parameters that can also be recognized in valid valid also in the International context and in particular for the US market where the Piedmontese wine enjoys excellent reputation and represents the most significant for economic values.
In addition, in line with the regional strategies S3 (Smart Special Strategy), the sharing of the know-how developed by the research, will take place through the digital platform, a project of digital Lab Lab and transdisciplinary competence center that shares values and perspectives on the themes of the circular economy applied to food.
