ARIES
ArchitectuRe of Products, dIgital mEthodologies and procedures for Validation of Innovative Star Trackers for Smallsats

Scheda del progetto
ARIES proposes extensive and synergistic industrial research and experimental development, having ARGO star sensors and related digital validation procedures as its core.
ARGO sensors are intelligent cameras for attitude determination of Small Satellites.

Succeed in overcoming difficulties in effective project management and coordination.
The project has three Implementation Objectives:
- Completion of ARGO line product architectures to cover the offerings of the vast SmallSats market;
- Validation of star trackers with night sky tests using a Portable Pneumatic Motorized Pneumostatic Rotary Unit (UR-PMP);
- Development of a methodology for characterization and simulation of the star tracker baffle.
Enabling a greater variety of offerings to its user customers, whether they are manufacturers of nano-satellites, micro-satellites or minisatellites. The star tracker product portfolio will range from ultra-high performance solutions (frequency, accuracy, robustness) for high-demanding (lunar/interplanetary) missions to solutions aimed at ensuring the best trade-off between footprint/consumption and performance.
