Round Grip stage 5 - how did it go?

On 21st November 2024, the beautiful Kyoto Room of the Environment Park in Turin hosted the 5th stage of the Round GRIP series of meetings, dedicated to the Circular Transformations of Mineral and Organic Waste. It was an afternoon full of speeches, comparisons and inspiring moments organised by Spoke 2 within the GRIP project, with the support of the research activities of Research Module 1 (RM1).

Introduction and insights into GRIP's Research Module 1

The event opened with a speech by Edoardo Braccio, who presented the NODES project and its Green Tech. Following this, Giovanna Antonella Dino, head of Research Module 1, illustrated the module's objectives, with a focus on solutions to transform mineral and organic waste into valuable resources for a more efficient circular economy.

Experiences of innovative projects

Among the protagonists of the day was the The Circle project, winner of Line A of the NODES calls for proposals, which showcased its innovations in reusing materials.


Participants explored the Circular Materials Market, an interactive exhibition curated by RM1 researchers, which highlighted concrete solutions to promote a sustainable approach to materials.

Working and idea-sharing tables

The highlight of the event was the thematic working tables, moderated by experts such as Francesca Gambino, Susanna Mancini, Elio Padoan and Marco Casale, who led participants in a reflection on the benefits and challenges of circularity. Among the topics discussed: strategies to implement circular economy models, regulatory barriers and opportunities for innovation.

Networking

The day ended with a networking aperitif, a valuable opportunity to consolidate relations between companies, researchers and stakeholders and to lay the foundations for new collaborations in the name of sustainability.


Another step forward for Spoke 2 and the GRIP project, which continue to work on turning waste into opportunities, driving the transition towards a circular economy.
