Cosmetics Advanced Upcycling Solution Approach

Scheda del progetto
The 'C.A.U.S.A. - Cosmetics Advanced Upcycling Solution Approach' project is an ambitious initiative that aims to transform the cosmetics industry through the use of lipid esters made from waste vegetable oils, while promoting environmental sustainability and innovation.
The project promotes the adoption of sustainable approaches to fine chemicals: the replacement of hazardous solvents with environmentally friendly options and the introduction of chemistry.
A key element of the project is the advanced digital component. This will enable real-time monitoring and control of chemical processes, improving operational efficiency and helping to reduce overall costs.

The C.A.U.S.A. project is distinguished by its ambition to overcome the limitations of fully utilising waste oils.
While the traditional chemical industry often neglects vegetable waste oils, the C.A.U.S.A. project strives to maximise their utilisation by transforming them into high value-added esters. This innovative approach overcomes the current waste of resources and raw materials, addressing an economic and environmental problem.
The implementation of an advanced control system to monitor and adjust process parameters surpasses standard practices, enabling more efficient, accurate and consistent production of esters.
This overcomes the limitations of traditional manual or semi-automated processes. The C.A.U.S.A. project is characterised by a level of innovation of international scope, as it aims to develop sustainable solutions for a global industry, namely the cosmetics industry.
The project offers a sustainable solution for waste oil management and the production of environmentally friendly cosmetics. This helps reduce the environmental impact and reduce dependence on fossil fuels, addressing a major challenge in the cosmetics industry.
