Scheda del progetto
Traditional CO2 capture and storage technologies have demonstrated limitations in terms of efficiency, high costs and performance in the presence of humidity. The CO2-ADSORBENT project aims to develop advanced and sustainable technologies for capturing and recovering gaseous CO2 produced by flue gas in paint pyroscission plants, and then reusing the captured CO2 in the production of dry ice. An innovative aspect of the project is the integration of the Digital Twin, a virtual, dynamic model that allows the process to be simulated and monitored in real time. The implementation of the technology will reduce the environmental impact of industrial plants by reducing the emission of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere.

Provide innovative and sustainable solutions for CO2 capture and recovery in the paint industry and promote digital innovation through the use of the Digital Twin.
The CO2-ADSORBENT project goes beyond the state of the art, presenting innovative and ambitious solutions in the field of CO2 capture and storage in industrial (full-scale) plants. In fact, compared to currently available solutions, the project offers significant advantages, such as the use of advanced adsorbent materials (e.g. porous magnesium oxides; performing at 80-200 °C and active in the presence of humidity) the use of digital technologies for monitoring, control and simulation of the full-scale process.
The project has a significant impact in reducing CO2 emissions, contributing to global efforts to mitigate climate change. In addition, the use of the Digital Twin will enable real-time information and facilitate decision-making processes.
