International Symposia: "Technology and Society: Boon or Bane?"

Spoke 3 - Tourism Industry and Culture organized an International Symposia entitled: Technology and Society: Boon or Bane? on 23 and 24 January 2025 at the University of Insubria, Varese headquarters.

The objective of the conference is to highlight how technology has unequivocally transformed the dynamics of our interactions, lifestyles, work environments, social relationships and business operations. Playing a vital role in society, technology continues to evolve, promising new advancements that will reshape our lives and professional landscapes.

While technology facilitates seamless communication, access to information, travel, sharing of ideas and creation of knowledge, there is growing apprehension about its potential negative impacts on society in the future. In particular, concerns have emerged regarding the potential negative consequences of artificial intelligence (AI) and automation. Additionally, the influence of social media on mental health and well-being, especially among younger generations, is of growing concern.
