AET
Augmented Educational Travel

Scheda del progetto
Soluzioni Turistiche Integrate srl
AET was born from the experience of Integrated and Free Tourist Solutions. The project aims to transform educational and study trips into annual learning paths, enriched by augmented reality (AR) and an adaptive LMS (Learning management system) platform. The project includes a pre-visit phase, in which students receive digital materials and publications to familiarize themselves with the places and themes of the trip, and a post-visit phase, in which the evolution of students' knowledge will be assessed, through contents and assessment. Families and teachers will also be involved, allowing them to evaluate the soft skills acquired. The educational journey will therefore evolve into an educational path ("learning path"), capable of "listening" to the participants through the analysis of the feedback received. The results acquired from the project will be shared publicly, to promote further experimentation through open knowledge.

The project is preparing to respond to the challenges of the digital transition, because it uses augmented reality (AR) and an adaptive learning platform (LMS) to transform educational journeys into long-term learning paths, and of the strengthening of the skills system, because it provides an adaptive educational path that is modeled on the incoming skills of the participants. Furthermore, by combining tourism and technology, AET contributes to the diversification of regional production specializations. The objective is to overcome the gap with other regions in terms of innovation capacity.
AET aims to involve not only students, but also families and teachers, aiming to create a broader social impact, and aims to increase the resilience and adaptive capacity of the education and tourism system, enabling learning and continuous exploration in response to unexpected and sudden changes. The 1-week educational trips will become a year-long educational journey, in which a combination of games and digital materials will respond to the students' need for a personalized educational path, the need of families to actively participate in the educational experience of their children and the needs of teachers, providing a context for the educational trip and the training path without overloading their lesson hours.
AET, through the use of digital technologies, contributes to the ecological transition, another key objective of the Smart Specialization Strategy. AET wants to make students more aware of the environmental impact their travel has by showing them what actions they can take to reduce their impact. It can therefore contribute to sustainability by reducing the need for physical travel through the use of digital technologies, thus contributing to the transition towards forms of production with lower energy and environmental impact.
