Built on the Made in Italy concept, the GALATEA project will be developed by Le Panier, which produces luxury leather goods, and by EDG, with the aim of developing a safe digital ecosystem thanks to the innovation of the company's production processes. The platform used will collect the information and data relating to the production process, allowing the calculation of the process results and enabling its efficiency. Through Blockchain technology it will be possible to create the Digital Twin of creations and enhance artisan know-how, and through Non-Fungible Token (NFT) technology the authenticity and traceability of the product will be guaranteed along the supply chain, encouraging the exchange of information with consumers. The Digital Twin will enable customer content creation, paving the way for new experiences in the Metaverse.

The digital twin will contain all the product information, aimed at guaranteeing the traceability of the raw materials, the craftsmanship techniques and the originality of the idea from which it was born. Through the applications, the company will be able to convey to consumers all the information, images and videos it deems necessary to narrate the peculiarities and care taken in manual workmanship, typical of Made in Italy products. The implementation of this infrastructure will provide the information to optimize production processes resulting in improved sustainability.
The adoption of NFTs can allow small businesses and artisan businesses to create a unique position in the market, showcasing the authenticity, craftsmanship and tradition associated with 'Made in Italy' products. The project will provide an open and interoperable digital ecosystem that can be easily integrated into the working environment, support companies in the path of sustainable transformation, and identify the most appropriate digital tools to support the launch of new business opportunities.
The GALATEA project represents a significant step in the promotion and valorization of the artisanal and creative process. The authenticity of artisanal products will be protected and a unique narrative will be used that will highlight the value of craftsmanship and the creative process. The ability to communicate the artisan process in an effective and engaging way will be able to significantly contribute to increasing the competitiveness of regional production sectors, including crafts and fashion.
