MINERVA
Museum Interactive exhibitions using virtual reality, advanved AI and gamification

Scheda del progetto
The MINERVA project aims to develop an integrated framework for the creation of innovative and personalized virtual exhibitions, enriched by gamification to increase public involvement. The platform will be developed on the basis of an existing infrastructure, which allows operators in the tourism and cultural supply chain to manage multimedia catalogs (multilingual texts, photos, videos, 3D models, etc.) through a Content Management System (CMS), and to tourists to access it via web, mobile and eXtended Reality (XR) applications. The main objective is to improve the inclusiveness, accessibility and attractiveness of tourist and cultural heritage by enhancing the ability of operators to expand their digital offer and create more engaging and personalized experiences for visitors.

3D Research, through MINERVA, wants to overcome economic and social challenges by promoting innovation and collaboration in the cultural sector and improving the accessibility, attractiveness and sustainability of Italian cultural heritage. This objective will be pursued through the introduction of methodologies and approaches linked to artificial intelligence, the metaverse and eXtended Reality.
MINERVA aims to surpass the current offer through technological innovation and new dissemination methodologies. In detail, it aims to optimize the management of digital data in terms of expressiveness and inclusiveness; to make contents accessible to different types of users; to improve learning through direct and participatory involvement of users; to create applications for VR (Virtual Reality) headsets and smartphones. All thanks to a fluid and multiplatform approach that guarantees interoperability.
End users will use multiplatform and fluid applications (web/XR), the so-called liquid applications, to enjoy virtual exhibitions on PC, mobile or XR devices. These applications have the great advantage of being accessible without constraints and are able to provide a revolutionary experience for using content. MINERVA enriches the virtual exhibitions sector with gamification elements designed to enhance the edutainment of the experience offered and the interactivity of the proposal. The introduction of minigames with levels to unlock to continue the visit is a useful strategy to involve and retain the final recipients.
