Motor Neuron Disease: understanding the pathogenic mechanism to develop therapies
Info utili
The hybrid meeting will elucidate biological mechanism involved in muscular atrophy (at different ages and conditions) and describe therapeutic strategies for these disorders.
Aim of the course
The proposed hybrid workshop (scheduled on November 8th-9th, 2024), will give the opportunity to attendees (researchers and companies) to elucidate mechanisms responsible of muscular atrophy, know the latest therapeutic strategies, exchange ideas and share results. Starting by the motor neuron disease field, the workshop will cover topics that can be relevant not only for the specific pathology (which will be used as a paradigm), but for many other muscle atrophy conditions (as sarcopenia or dystrophies), which affect a much larger part of the population.
The meeting, organized within the NODES project, is in line with the research and innovation program ''Health Industry and Silver Economy'' (Spoke5), providing knowledge on innovative diagnostic/therapeutic strategies and regenerative medicine.
Organized in the historical Palace of the Anatomical Institutes (C.so Massimo D'Azeglio 52, Torino) by Prof. Marina Bodio and Dr. Serena Stanga (Neuroscience Institute Cavalieri Ottolenghi, Dept. Neuroscience, University of Torino), the workshop will include lectures given by renowned national and internation expert in the field, two poster sessions, two sessions of talks selected among the attendee abstracts, possibility to discuss with the invited speakers, and a practical session dedicated to the analysis of neuromuscolar junctions.
The meeting, dedicated to researchers and companies, will include both in person and online participants.
