Nutritional status is the foundation of health and well-being for everyone, particularly for those who are more fragile. In fact, proper nutritional status is crucial for hospitalized patients, residents in nursing homes, and patients receiving home care.
Goal of the webinar
Paying close attention to the need for proper nutrition is particularly important in fragile patients, those who experience a condition where multiple chronic diseases coexist, often requiring the simultaneous use of various pharmacological therapies (polytherapy), along with disabilities and social issues. The goal of the webinar is to share knowledge about clinical frailty, as well as raise awareness about the current problem of malnutrition in the elderly, providing general information on the issue and nutritional needs of these individuals.
The webinar also aims to increase awareness of the importance of a balanced and complete diet. An appropriate and early management of fragile patients could lead to a reducation in hospitalizations of lenght of stay, enhance hospital-community continuity, optimize the use of economic and organizational resources, and, most importantly, nesure the patient's improved survival.
