The Dairy Life PRO project aims to develop software for managing intensive dairy livestock farms, facilitating the management of the herd's records, reproduction, and health. The software uses predictive algorithms for the selection of replacements and culling, supporting the decision-making process of farmers and technicians. The final product will be tested and applied in an industrial environment with the goal of enhancing the decision-making capacity of the livestock enterprise by providing innovative, user-friendly, and technologically advanced software support.

There is a strong introduction of technology in farms, such as the use of sensors for reproductive, nutritional, and animal welfare management, which generate a large amount of data. In general, even in the most virtuous companies, data is often managed separately, primarily for real-time monitoring rather than to inform planning and management suggestions. The challenge is to integrate the various processes and the associated data within the farm to facilitate its management concerning specific targets.
The main innovation will be to create key performance indicators (KPIs) capable of providing a constant overview of the herd at the level of each individual animal, to determine whether reform is necessary. Specific algorithms will also be designed to enable the calculation of profitability indicators.
Operators in the dairy cattle sector will have access to an innovative and user-friendly management tool that can support decision-making processes on the farm, improving the technical and economic efficiency of the businesses and optimizing the use of animal and feed resources in milk production.
