The activities proposed in the service concern aspects related to the regulations, authorisations and certifications necessary for the installation, commissioning and operation of an experimental micro hydrogen refuelling station for hydrogen powered land vehicles.
The support activity will focus on the following issues

  • Identification and analysis of permitting procedures for the installation the use of the refuelling system;
  • Consulting activities on the applicable product and refuelling system regulations/technological standards for the installation and operation of the system;
  • Assistance in the identification of accredited certification bodies;
  • Assistance in risk assessment and self-assessment of development phases.

The challenge
Document

To be able to realise a microstation for the simultaneous production and refuelling of hydrogen land vehicles, without the need for storage.

How it's innovative
Document

The innovative value of the intervention is given by the possibility to accumulate fundamental technical and regulatory information on the development/integration of a 'Mirco hydrogen production unit integrated with VRA (Vehicle Refuelling Appliance), storage-less'.

Impact on users
Document

Two different types of impact have been identified.

Technological impact: the results of the service will make it possible to demonstrate the feasibility of the application of the experimental system to be developed, from a regulatory and authorisation point of view. Although an initial implementation and development phase is being launched, once the regulatory roadmap is in place, it will be possible to proceed more effectively with further investment in research, development and innovation, focusing on technological and digital solutions whose application is in line with the identified standards.

Impact on the economic performance of stakeholders: in the development of the experimental hydrogen vehicle refuelling microstation, the company already has existing collaborations with internal HOLDIM Group partners and stakeholders, concerning the development and supply of the various components. From the point of view of comparison, involvement and proposal towards territorial actors and public stakeholders, the prospects of a strengthened and consolidated partnership, also thanks to the results of the service, will allow for an increased impact on the economic performance, should the supply of the system materialise.
