Volta Structural Energy Srl develops an innovative structural battery technology: multifunctional elements capable of supporting high mechanical loads and storing and releasing electrical energy like ordinary batteries. This technology is ideal for maximising the energy density and autonomy of electrically powered platforms and compatible with all non-stationary applications, from space to aeronautics to land and sea mobility.

The project presented aims at finalising a minimum viable product of structural battery dedicated to the satellite sector with a focus on nanosatellites, cubesats and smallsats operating in LEO orbits.
The project revolutionises the energy storage sector by allowing energy to be stored directly in structures for the first time, eliminating the need for bulky and heavy battery packs.
Structural batteries make it possible to reduce the mass of the systems using them, increase the power available and the volume available to the payload with very positive effects on the life and profitability of satellite platforms.
