SPACE MISSIONS

Space missions play a crucial role for the exploration and understanding of the Universe and Earth, driving pioneering scientific and technological achievements. From design and development to launch and execution, the Portal collects highly skilled entities and teams within the Ecosystem region, offering a wide range of expertise and capabilities.

Agencies, research institutions, and private entities can leverage the Portal to find the skill they need for each phase of any space mission, starting from phase design, through the development of tools, simulation models, mathematical analyses, computation methods, and more, for specific mission-elements. The Portal presents the research teams, their descriptions and specialisations.

The team activity aims at fostering sustainability and affordability of future space missions. The team provides expertise in the areas of design and development of small spacecraft missions, design and verification of GNC systems, and space systems engineering methods and tools.

The team has expertise in several fields of applied mathematics, as modeling and simulation, numerical treatment of PDEs, optimization techniques, mathematical tools for decision making under uncertainty, statistics, data analysis. The group also hosts a team studying solar-wind interaction with human activities via machine learning techniques.
