The Politecnico di Torino hosted the sixth stop of Round Grip - the Spoke 2 cycle of meetings - dedicated to innovative solutions for CO₂ reduction, recovery and valorisation.
Entitled ‘Fixed for CO₂? How to get rid of it with GRIP technologies!’, the meeting brought together researchers, companies, students and institutions to explore the role of Carbon Capture, Use and Storage (CCUS) and GRIP technologies in industrial decarbonisation, the subject of GRIP's Research Module 5 (RM5).

An agenda full of content and debate

The day opened with institutional greetings from the Politecnico di Torino, followed by an introduction by Nicole Mariotti on the NODES project and Spoke 2, highlighting the importance of applied research in the field of sustainable technologies.

Next, Silvia Fraterrigo Garofalo posed a key question: can CO₂ be transformed from waste into a resource? A central theme that paved the way for subsequent speeches, including:

🔹 ‘CO₂: how much do you know?’ – An interactive time to test and expand participants' knowledge on the topic of carbon dioxide emissions.
🔹 ‘CCUS technologies in international projects and in Italy’Marco Illich presented the state of play of CO₂ capture and reuse solutions, with a specific focus on European projects and their application in Italy.
🔹 ‘The role of biochar in carbon credits’Viviana Negro explained the potential of this technology in offsetting emissions.
