Tomorrow on Rai 1! Sustainability enters the pipeline with Spoke 2 and the University of Turin

Spoke 2 NODES research comes to Rai 1
On Saturday 17 May, Linea Verde - Rai 1's historic programme dedicated to territories and sustainable innovation - will air a special report dedicated to a frontier project that combines mineral waste recovery, sustainable building and traditional craftsmanship.
The protagonists will be Francesca Gambino and Giovanna Dino, researchers at the Department of Earth Sciences of the University of Turin, who will tell how, thanks to the research activities conducted within NODES - Spoke 2, it is possible to transform mineral waste into sustainable mortars and plasters, suitable both for contemporary building and for the restoration of historical heritage.
They were joined by Nino Longhitano, artisan restorer and owner of Athena Art, which has been handing down and innovating the tradition of “doing good” for over thirty years. The report was filmed at the Building School of Turin, a symbolic place for the transfer of skills between research, craftsmanship and the younger generations.

The project stems from the desire to combine scientific and empirical knowledge to give new life to mining industry waste and demolition materials, reducing environmental impact and promoting models of industrial symbiosis.
📺 Don't miss them on Rai 1, Saturday 17 May from 12.20 p.m.!
A chance to see applied research that is good for the planet... and the land.🌱
