Development and evaluation of innovative high-efficiency system for biogas production from organic materials

Scheda del progetto
The innovation service required is necessary for the development of a project dedicated to the production of biomethane through a high-performance, compact system for decentralised applications, which differs from solutions currently on the market that are based on large, centralised plants.

The objective of this service is to support the design of a Generation 2 of an existing prototype, with the addition of innovative features, under the guidance of the University of Turin, which will also support sample collection and production data analysis. These services are intended to complement our knowledge of gas management.
The main purpose of the services is to expand the company's knowledge in terms of the know-how of this technology, in particular the specific behaviour of microbiological species involved in digestion under thermophilic conditions, i.e. at operating temperatures close to 55°C.
The results that will be obtained through the HDPC innovation service would enable a decisive path to patenting this technology. In addition, it will facilitate the use of the technology in contexts that were impossible to date, such as: small farms and very small spaces that would not allow the use of normal biodigesters of imposing dimensions. These decentralised installations, in addition to energy recovery, will also solve the problem of emissions from animal farms, reducing the impact on the greenhouse effect.
