VirtuArc
Integrated system for the virtualization of archaeological sites

Scheda del progetto
Domo Srl
VirtuArc aims to design and implement an integrated system that allows the "digital twin" of the archaeological site or property to be restored or restored to be reproduced in virtual reality, in order to make the construction site design phases more efficient and faster, as well as the traceability and retraceability of the progress of the works. It is also proposed to strengthen the analytical and decision-making phases through the shared simulation of alternative scenarios. In addition to making the operational and management phases more efficient, the VirtuArc system will at the same time represent the information and technological basis for implementing an immersive use service for the museum ecosystem, multiplying the possibilities and ways of enjoying the cultural heritage.

Corintea and Domo aim to improve and speed up decision-making processes for the excavation, restoration and reconstruction of cultural heritage operations, through digital simulations visualized in virtual reality. They also aim to optimize the remote operational management of simultaneous on-site works linked to architectural sites of cultural interest, and to offer engaging experiences in virtual reality for the tourist use of cultural heritage.
VirtuArc will aim to design and implement an integrated system that allows the digital twin of the asset to be restored to be reproduced in virtual reality, in order to make the phases necessary for the restoration and conservation of the asset more efficient, through the shared simulation of alternative scenarios.
New paradigms of virtual exploration of national and international cultural heritage will be introduced, making them accessible to tourists and visitors unable to physically go there. For these reasons, the project aims to promote sustainable and inclusive growth in the areas involved, addressing the challenges of the digital and ecological transition. The first hypothesized pilot construction site will be in the Archaeological Park of Pompeii.
