U-Care Medical Renal Platform

Scheda del progetto
U-Care Medical requires financial support to develop and certify the U-Care Renal Platform (UCM-RP), a class 2b software for predictive and personalized management of kidney complications in intensive care, based on AI. The platform uses two algorithms, AKIRA and PERSEA, to predict the risk of developing renal failure and persistent acute kidney injury (AKI). The aim is to obtain CE certification for its market launch.

The main challenge is to improve AKI management in intensive care units, where 20% of patients develop AKI, and 25% of these experience a persistent episode that further aggravates their condition. The U-Care renal platform offers early diagnosis and treatment, reducing mortality and costs. The challenge is to obtain CE certification for this new type of innovative and cutting-edge devices.
U-Care Medical offers the U-Care Renal Platform, a software platform that innovates the management of kidney complications in intensive care. By replacing chemical biomarkers, it offers real-time automatic monitoring with an accuracy of over 80%, reducing costs and improving the quality of care. Compared to competitors, it stands out for its multi-model approach, scalability and patient-centered approach. Obstacles include clinical performance validation and regulatory approval.
The U-Care Renal platform, with AKIRA and PERSEA artificial intelligence models, enables early recognition of kidney complications, reducing treatment delays, mortality and hospital readmissions. It improves resource and cost management, with savings of up to €500,000/year per hospital. It supports the Sustainable Development Goals, promoting health, gender equality and job opportunities for young people, with positive impact on the territory.
