MARIS
Advanced Monitoring for the obseRvation and Identification of hydrocarbons via Satellite

Scheda del progetto
The MARIS project activity is expressed in the study and development of a prototype that will be able to detect and analyze the main pollutants affecting marine areas. This study will lead to the development of a simulator, which appropriately installed on experimental tanks, will make it possible to reproduce the real conditions in which the pelagic marine environment is found and therefore, to estimate the evolution of Oil-Spill events.

Being able to create an effective tool that can provide a timely and definitive response to spills at sea, facilitating action by entities responsible for protecting marine areas.
It allows pollutants to be studied and classified and their behavior simulated in experimental tanks equipped with a satellite simulator.
It provides a significant contribution to the operational and response capability in cases of contaminant spills at sea with positive effects on the entire sea economy chain.
